The Princess and the Diamond

There was a big shinny diamond at the side of one road in the middle of the forest, it was dirty and full with soil due to the rain and the dust had covered it all. Nevertheless it could still be seen because the strong sunrays made some of its sides shine so much. It was a beautiful jewel.

At the end of the road a Great White Castle was standing. The diamond dreamed everyday with living in there and hoped that one day for some reason his dreams became true.

One day a Princess went for a walk. The diamond saw her from the distance and became really excited about his Good Luck. Finally, an opportunity to make his dreams true was there walking graciously and majestically towards him! He prepared him self asking help to the Sun so he could give his most powerful shines and attract the attention of the Princess.

Suddenly the Princess saw a flower; it was a beautiful one, full with color, so soft and with a nice smell. She picked it up and when she was about to keep it to take it to her Castle, a fond wounded her finger. She threw the flower automatically. Her finger was bleeding a lot, and she began to cry.

After some minutes, she began to walk again, the pain was almost gone and her finger had stopped bleeding. A big smile was drew on her face because she saw suddenly a gorgeous bug. It had fantastic colors and funny antennas so she picked it up. When she was doing it she felt a hard bite, she opened her hand instantly and the bug flew away. She was so angry; it couldn’t be possible that for a second time she was hurt and feeling bad about her luck. With her eyes looking to the floor she began to walk again.

The diamond was very happy; he was giving his most powerful shines so the Princess would notice him. She finally arrived and surprised her self of those powerful lights coming out, and how the rainbow was being drowned everywhere. The diamond began to shout as loud as possible, as much as he could, but the Princess stayed static in front of him, her sight was straight on him but she was now afraid of picking up another object which makes her cry.

After some gigantic tries the diamond made the Princess smile and she began to move her hand in order to lift him up. He began to imagine his life with the Princess, so full with joy, parties, travels, dinners. May be she would make with him a pin and put him just next to her Heart, maybe she would make with him a hair holder so he would be next to her Dreams every night. He was going to make the Princess so happy! Everybody in the Castle would be glad to see the Princess like this. It was so good, it was so perfect!!.

When she was about to reach him she stopped and the smile disappeared, the hurts on her hands were still hurting her. She remembered the anger and the pain she had felt before and was still feeling now. Some tears felt from her eyes… She turned her face to the road and walked away.

The diamond was so sure the Princess would lift him up! He couldn’t understand what had been the problem. Were the bright shines not strong enough? But, the Sun was directly pointing on him!!... Was the dust that covered him the problem? But, that was only dust and with some water he would be the shiniest diamond in the World!!... This has been never seen, but the diamond dropped some tears as well. It was now a Liquid diamond. He just hoped as strong as a diamond can hope, the Princess would return and finally decide to take him to her Castle. Be the happiest Ever, and never… never let Him go.
