Pretext

Nestor Melendez, now the most famous lawyer in this district of Puerto Rico, made his multimillionaire fortune by selling expensive properties in the Atlantida.

He was not committing fraud. People buying these properties knew well that they were buying a piece of a mythological and inexistent land. But they were aware that the benefit of this acquisition would be to have an official ownership title granted by the State, with which they would be able to become a member of the select club of “The Atlantida Owners”, a club for rich and important people established in the center of New Atlantida. A town founded by, and only for the members of this club for reunions and party purposes.

This was definitively a good example of a strange pretext in order to create a club of rich people. After Mr. Melendez’ great success, some organizations like Disney possessing the rights of other imaginary and inexistent lands such as Peter Pan’s “Never Never Land”, or the “Alice Wonderland” tried to do the same, but never achieved a success as great as this honorable and creative lawyer.
